VL VR versus P1 - P5 Topic

Wondering what everybody's opinion is on this. Given equal control, velocity, etc, world a pitcher with 60 VL and VR with pitch ratings 90 80 70 60 50, perform better or worse than a pitcher with 80 VL and VR with pitch ratings 70 50 40 30 20, and would offensive or defensive ballpark sway which kind of pitcher ratings you would focus on?

My thoughts:

1/ The Splits guy is going to do a little better than the Pitches guy but only because you said 80 splits which are generally a little on the high side. Knock those down to only 75s and it gets a lot closer.
2/ Their performances will be perceived differently. The Splits guy will still get lit up from time to time. He'll always be seen as underperforming his splits, whereas the Pitches guy will be seen as outperforming his.
3/ More than the Ballpark, I think what will matter is the relative environment of the world. In one of my worlds Pitches guy is strictly a LR; in the other he's a sought after free agent who gets bid up.
4/ The Pitches guy will be cheaper to acquire or draft because there will be other owners who will simply write him off for having low splits.

Damag's #4 point is very important. I usually go for the pitches guy with splits in the 60's, because most owners go for the splits guy and I can get the pitches guys cheaper.

very broad generalization, but Splits > Pitches.

These two guys both have splits in the 60's, with decent pitch ratings. They have career ML ERA's of 3.71 and 3.46. Granted, we play half of our games in Tacoma, but I consider those ERA's acceptable.
