Draft big board - post-season Topic

Came to the realization that post-season success can make your players move up the draft board.

Had 3 players on the big board before last night's National Championship game at 6,10, and 11.

Won the NT game and on the final big board those 3 players are now at 2, 5, and 6.

Of course nothing changed on their player ratings but they all moved up the board with post-season success.

So does success in the regular season also have an effect on draft board position?

And is this logical?

Is this already common knowledge?

Yes, postseason success bumps players up the big board. Yeah it's pretty common knowledge. And I mean I guess its logical... but its kind of annoying.

From a practical standpoint, IMO there is really not much difference in their likelihood of leaving, moving up a handful of spots inside a given category (in this case, likely going). I suspect where Big Board changes noticeably move the needle are for non-graduating players who move into higher outlook levels (sophs into the top 17 or 18, JRs into the top 28; I don’t know where the cusps are for freshmen, but they exist, too). In those cases, yeah, I think there is good logic behind it. Deeper runs mean more exposure, which can certainly increase draft “stock” in real life.

I've only looked into this a little bit, but from what I've seen, it's a little complicated and I don't fully understand what's going on.

Here are some big board results from Allen several seasons ago.

I was a lazy and didn't put down the team finish for every player but did not some of the bigger movers or noted which teams had deep runs.

Some interesting observations:
-Lowell Davis went to Final Four and rose 5 spots
-Robert Blackburn and Mark Smith went to final four and each dropped 1 spot
-Thomas Husby went to FF and rose 3 spots
- Ryan Birnbaum went to title game and only rose 1 spot
-Roland Rodgers dropped out in 2nd round and dropped 3 spots
-Curtis Holloway got knocked out in 1st round and rose 2 spots

Rest of list
-Gagnon missed NT but won PIT and rose 3 spots
-Grossman knocked out in 2nd round and dropped 4 spots
-Artega rose 9 spots after S16 run while Michael Scott (that's what she said) went to Final Four and didn't change positions.
etc etc weird things all over the place.

Hmm not sure what's up that link. But maybe this is better. Sorted by the biggest moves up the board their team results

Biggest increases

And then biggest decreases here

Doesn't seem super straightforward to me. Maybe personal awards could paint a better picture. Maybe if I get bored, I can add those in.
