Ideas for a Game Within A Game? Topic

Howdy everyone!
I know that there are some worlds/conferences that hold informal tournaments that are tracked via these forums. I was thinking about starting something that's similar, but with a little bit of a twist and was hoping to crowd source some ideas/possibly recruit participants.

What I had in mind was something along the lines of the following: either a season-by-season, or potentially multi-season, competition where various accomplishments are assigned different point values and the members of the conference all compete against one another to see which team can score the most "points" in the given time frame. The harder the accomplishment, the more "points" that it's worth. Some of the initial things that came to mind: All-American selections (pre and post season), Regular Season Conference championships, leading the conference in certain statistics, post season successes, top 25 in RPI and/or SOS etc.

So, my question to the HD hive mind: what kinds of accomplishments would you like to see in this kind of an experiment? And how would you recommend scoring them?

Sincerely,
A (relative) HD newbie with lots of time to kill thanks to COVID-19

This is what we do in gifting seasons. Literally all we have left is a fake Best ball NIT and NIT at the end of the season. Which won't be applicable.

Leading the nation in scoring ( team or player)
highest Sos

i would be interested in doing this. I think it would be neat to do if all the schools were in a small state. I like cut throat recruiting.

75% of the users will say no and they are the ones setting up tournaments and keeping the money?

So, I was thinking that all interested parties would join the same conference and compete only against one another...I realize that HD worlds have so many people that coordinating such a contest throughout the whole world is impractical. However, I would not be against expanding to include multiple conferences if there is enough interest.

EDIT: To Wardo's point about prizes: I hadn't gotten quite that far yet, but was thinking prizes could range anywhere from bragging rights to credits to non-WIS gift cards and would be tracked/organized by only the participating owners so that if someone who was in the world but not interested in the contest wouldn't need to contribute money they had no way of winning back.
