I was lucky enough to score tickets for the 1995 Mariner - Yankee first round playoffs. Interesting that MLB had scheduled the first 2 games in New York (where the Yanks won both) and the last 3 in Seattle. Three magical contests that rocked the Kingdome to the rafters... Griffey Jr back in center after missing time with a broken hand... Mike Blowers on a grand slam tear... Joey Cora with hustle and fire on the basepaths… The Big Unit coming out of the bullpen in the late innings of game 5.... and Edgar Martinez with the game 5 winning double down the left field line to send the entire Pacific Northwest into a frenzy.
With binoculars, I was able to see George Steinbrenner in his box as the game ended just turn and storm up the stairway... priceless.
