Trying to learn as much as I can, and just found the merkle page about using the charts for AAA players. I've figured out who my players are. I can't figure out how to rename them to their true identities, but see others in my league have done so.

You can rename AAA players via a link on the GM's Office page.

Do it quickly, because for some reason the option disappears after about 10 games into the season.

Gosh....been up and down that gm page and can't find where to click. The season hasn't started yet.

Near the top says rename then hit done at bottom
it is the roster section

I thought I remembered seeing something like that this morning when they first posted our league, but it appears to have already been removed.

ok i found a quicklink to it on the league page, when i click on it that sends me to the GM office, but looks like i can only rename them when i call them up and only have until the 4th game of the year to do so. I didn't draft properly at all. Lesson learned. Should have drafted a bunch of scrubs to swap...1st timer.

Yeah, if you're in a league with AAA players, the usual thing to do is draft 200K scrubs and dump them to the minors for the rookies.

Also, you don't have to call up the rookies to rename them (unless something changed with the recent update?).

They still can be renamed in the GM office

I find the link, but if I click on a regular player it just takes me to their baseball reference page. It won't let me click on the AAA guys. After 9 games, the link was gone, but I still have it in my other league that is about to start.

On the GM page

Yes. I can get to the page to rename players but my normal players appear in red and when I click on them I see their baseball reference page. The prospects appear in black and I can not click on them. I just want to honor their baseball legacies.

There should be blank boxes (all the way to the right) of your prospects

No blank boxes to far right. On far right there is just their names in black again. I can't click on or change anything. No tab on GM page, only the quicklink at league office that says rename eligible players, which takes me to GM page that says all prospects and position players can be renamed prior to the 4th day of the season..There is a list of my players. The normal players appear in red and if I click on them I still get to baseball reference page. The prospects are all in black and I can't click on them. There is a button on the bottom of the screen that says update player names, but no way to do so.

Ok... found the answer. It is only possible in theme leagues.
