They need to definitely give players their first 2 seasons free due to split recruiting and possibly let new players join D1 right away. What is the downside to both of those? People creating new accounts over and over again to keep a team for free I guess? The death of D3?
Then say free seasons are D3 only but if you purchase a season you can join D1 right away. The average person does not want to spend a calendar year working their way through schools they've never heard of just so they can takeover a D prestige team in the Metro-Atlantic.

Agreed.
I think they need to diversify their promotions in general.
Why not offer half off on 6-packs to new users? The long-term gains for that could be tremendous. You get human coached worlds with multiple seasons and those people will buy more and more seasons once they get a chance to actually build a program over 4 years.
I did an analysis of Knight 23 games into the season and the 46 brand new D3 coaches who had never coached before in any world had an average record of 10-13 and a median record of 9-13. First year coaches in Knight with at least 2 seasons of experience in other worlds in HD had an average win-loss record of 16-7 and a median record of 17.5-4.5.
Going to update this analysis at end of the season but I'm pretty sure based on the data I have, 1 of those 46 coaches made the NT and no more than 6 of them made the post-season. That's not necessarily going to encourage these players to return for a fully paid season 2...
