Flaw in Sim Engine? Topic

It was a couple of months back I remember reading one of the owners was saying about there's a flaw in the way the sim engine calculates the results, and therefore some players will do better? Unfortunately, I do not remember much else about what was said. Is there a flaw in whatifsports baseball? If so, what are the specifics?

I think that you may be referring to contarian23 pointing out that players' performance here already incorporates the ballpark that they played in - they are not ballpark neutralized stats. So a right hand power hitter who played in Fenway for most of their career is already a big power hitter and if they also play in a WIS league in Fenway, they get the bounce from Fenway on top of that which they have already in their career stats. Same goes for hitters who hit in Dodger stadium and have deflated stats but then play here too in Dodger Stadium or the Astrodome etc. and so end up hitting very little, whereas corrected for park effects they may have been very effective and valuable batters for their RL teams in that stadium and league context.

So put players who played in very pro-batter or pro-pitcher parks in the same kind of park here and you double-down on the effect instead of it being neutralized.

Hmm, I don't think that's it. But thanks.
