What is going on?

Everyone decided to stop caring about the virus that's killing 1000 people a day and gather in large groups to protest the death of one person.

I'm not trying to excuse police brutality. This one looks pretty open and shut, unless there's something really crazy we don't know/see, and the officer is going to have a hard time avoiding a murder conviction. I am saying that massive protests, in cities across the country, are going to kill far more people than the police are.

A few weeks ago the president was telling people to liberate Minnesota and other States. Now he is saying “thugs” in Minnesota will be shot, I thought they were just liberating the city? I guess they are the wrong color though.

I guess to a total freaking moron like you, liberating and looting are the same thing.

Also, the arrested officer has a history of brutality with people of all colors, so this wasn't even a racist event - it was simply an out of control cop.
Every time something like this, that really is NOT race-related is turned into some huge race event, by people like you and the looters and the media, it does more and more HARM to the efforts to stop racism.

As always, don't let facts get in the way of your ridiculous ranting.

Apologist white boy doesn’t see the racism in ANOTHER black man MURDERED by a white cop. Do YOU walk out your door unafraid of the police allMOUTH? That’s called WHITE PRIVILEGE. Black people DO NOT have the “luxury” of not worrying if they’ll be MURDERED in ANY INTERACTION with ANY cop. That’s called “SYSTEMIC RACISM” and your opinion is again, ******* GARBAGE.

Do you have any statistical evidence (not based in emotion) to back up these assertions?

If the exact same situation has occurred but with the races reversed would people immediately label it as a racist act? the cop acted horribly, irresponsibly, reprehensibly, criminally. But is there any concrete proof that his actions were racially motivated? Why does the media push this angle before there is proof?

I can excuse the rioting, because police are starting that **** anyway. Looting is unacceptable. I would point out that most looters aren't the ones actually protesting. Many are grifters taking advantage of the situation.

In terms of the protests, yeah, we're ****** off.

I'm protesting because in 2020, this sort of police brutality shouldn't be happening to anyone. White, black, brown, I don't care. In this case, a black man's life was needlessly ended by a murderous cop. So yes, it needs to be said that Black Lives Matter. If you disagree, you are the scum of the earth.

Scum of the earth eh? This seems like the exact kind of language that will encourage rational, open-minded discussion. Framing it in this way could not possibly contribute to greater polarization, mutual hatred, and a sense of the impossibility of reconciliation right? There's the left and there's the right. Pick a side and make sure you believe in your heart of hearts that the other side is only driven by evil (and maliciously stupid) intent

This is NOT about LEFT and RIGHT. It’s about RIGHT and WRONG. Do you really not get the point that people are just ****** OFF? A black man tried PEACEFULLY KNEELING at a football game and conservatives had an embolism. No one wanted to hear him. He was RAILROADED out of his career. By men who spoke words similar to yours. Now it’s simply that many of the OPPRESSED are tired of being IGNORED. Violence has become a viable alternative because NOTHING has been done and they are tired of peaceful pleas falling on deaf ears.

You're arguing with someone saying that black lives matter. What does that say about you? What about what I said is disagreeable?
5/30/2020 11:46 AM
I am not arguing. I never said black lives don't matter. It can be argued that BLM itself is divisive and has done more harm than good, and is probably be pushed by the Russians. (To further divide this country)
5/30/2020 11:59 AM
But it seems you are more interested in calling names and making gross generalizations rather than having any kind of intelligent discussion.
5/30/2020 12:02 PM
The officer should absolutely be charged with murder. I have not argued against that ever. But have you ever considered how very Orwellian the BLM organization is, especially in regards to their name? Reasonable people can disagree about their aims and tactics but their name alone makes such disagreement problematic to the righteous left (ie what you just did)

“Those who make peaceful revolution impossible make violent revolution inevitable.”- JFK March 13th 1962

“A riot is the language of the unheard.”- MLK September 27th 1966.

“I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”
-MLK April 16th 1963
