In one of my leagues, I have one RP that is significantly better than all my other RP. He's set to Setup A, and everyone else to Setup B. Recently, down by two in the 7th, Sparky brought in my Setup A. I ended up losing the game, and that pitcher is now fatigued for the next game or two.

I messaged Admin and he incredulously asked me why I would expect a Setup B to come in before a Setup A. I said because my team was trailing. What manager would bring in their best RP down 2 in the 7th in a regular season game? Admin said A will always come before B.

My question is, should there not be some logic beyond "A before B...always!'? I don't feel like a Setup A should ever come in with a team trailing by multiple runs unless it's extra innings, playoffs or no one else is available.

I'm in the same boat and I agree with you in general. If I was in a high offense league, I would want my SetupA to come in that situation. If I'm in a low-scoring league, I would probably want to save him most of the time. The other option is to make him Closer and allow him to come in any inning in any situation, but I find that even I set it up that way, that reliever doesn't come in as often as I would like and they undershoot their innings.

Also, I don't think the sim changes any of it's logic for playoffs or elimination games
