I know that statement is going to trigger a lot of snowflakes on the right here. But here's the thing. Throughout history, enemies of civil rights have consistently attempted to strip black people of the right to protest by saying that it isn't the right way. If you put all3 into the 1960's, his arguments now would echo those made by right supremacists. Black people aren't allowed to riot, they aren't allowed to kneel, they aren't allowed to fill the streets, they aren't allowed to chant, they aren't allowed to get in white people's way. It's not a protest if it doesn't offend you. The entire point is to get your attention.
