A team I currently have started the season 12-3, then lost eight in a row, and has now won seven of eight. This type of thing is not uncommon.

Don't think I've ever done a spring league, seems like it would be a fun way to get your feet wet to see if you want to spend money on the real thing, but I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it.

When I started here free seasons were 30 games, quickly reduced to 20. With that length of “spring” season you actually could learn a thing or two about usage and fatigue over a longer haul, key issues which tend to bedevil new players (as they certainly did me). 10-game seasons are useless for that. But they’re good to learn how Sparky will interpret your commands, most especially bullpen hierarchy. I can’t think of any other use for them.
