Recruiting session 2 - New Coach question Topic

I took over a new team during the job change period. The previous coach offered scholarships to a handful of players. During the last cycle one of the players who was previously offered a scholarship emailed me and said he is open to receiving a scholarship offer.

Do I need to rescind the original offer and offer a new scholarship in order for the player to sign?

Something doesn't sound normal about this. But regardless, once recruiting artfully begins, you'll be able to know the circumstances by clicking "recruit" to get to the recruiting tools for that player. If the box is available to "offer scholarship", then yes you will need to click that. If the box says "withdraw scholarship offer" then you do not need to do anything (if you want the player), because the offer has been submitted.

Also you can check the status of the recruit now, but looking at the icons on the player profile. If you see a green swirly looking icon, that is the scholarship. And it has already processed. Or you can click "history" on the recruit profile, and see what actions have been applied and are active. Hope this helps

Wiredon, I think you're mixing some things up here. Top's advice is spot on though and you can also see what players have active attention points in them (left over from the previous coach) by clicking Recruiting --> Home --> Current Attention (under the word targets). From there you can rescind scholarship offers extended by the previous coach if he targeted any players you are not interested in.

In the scenario you are mentioning, it sounds more like the previous coach had AP left on the player rather than that he offered the player a scholarship. Slightly after your arrival, that AP passed the threshold to offer a scholarship. So if you are receiving the "I'm ready for a scholarship" email it means it's his first time asking and you can offer it to him now.

I submitted a ticket. Here is the response:

No need to worry, the offers are still good. When a new coach takes over a team, past recruiting effort is reduced. So in this case, some of the recruiting options were locked again after the previous coach had unlocked them. So when you unlocked them the second time, you got the messages about it.

Weird. Nice to know.

Glad this got resolved.

I've always been surprised that the community has decided to call me "Top". I thought that "dogg" (or some form of "doggggggg") would catch on and stick. But it never did. Either one is fine. I'm not picky. But only my HD lover shoe3 calls me dogg it seems!
