1st Pick in a Weak Draft Topic

I have the 1st overall pick in a very weak draft & would like to convert it to a Type D for next season. From what I've read, I need to draft a "Probably won't sign" player, meet his initial demands & then ignore his increased demands. Right so far? My question is, what number will the pick be next season? I also read that you don't get a Type D for supplemental/comp picks but what about the 2nd & 3rd round? All help is appreciated. Thx.

You would get the 2nd pick in next year's draft.

This is all in the FAQ. You also get type Ds for your second and third rounders, the second rounder is also this year's pick plus one spot, the third rounder is in a comp slot between the third and fourth rounds.

Thank you. I'll start checking the FAQ's.

Make sure the "probably won't sign" guy is a player with Mother listed as Consultant. Those are the only players that don't sign 99.9% of the time.

Any insight on undecided vs. may sign if the price is right? Which one is more likely to decline initial offer? I don't have the first pick, but high pick and first pick with a new team so don't love my scouting (along with it seemingly being a weak draft). I'm not sure if I have the budget space remaining for a probably won't sign - can't recall what they ask for initially if they're a probably won't sign.

Someone else correct me if I'm wrong. They will both most likely defer at first. An undecided may actually come back later and accept the offer on the table, without increasing the asking price, though.

IIRC a probably won't sign usually asks for around 6.5 million.

Thanks damag. Good to know the undecideds may sign without asking for more cash
