Forgot to Renew Topic

I forgot to renew my team in Tarkanian. I spent the last 5 or 6 seasons there. Teams opened up today and I thought I would be able to pick them up, but I cannot and it does not look like the team is reserved. Is there a way to get my old team back? Or contact someone? Or am I SOL?

Lots to parse through in here but the answer to your question is buried in this thread: https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=520897

General answer is if no one takes your old gig and you reach out to CS, they will give you your team back. But if someone else takes it, you're SOL unless that coach is willing to give you your team back and revert back to their previous position (and that assumes no one takes the team they left).

I saw the thread title and skipped over it. I'm glad it worked out how it did.

I've seen enough of these threads for a lifetime!

Bugs, a name from the wayback machine. Glad to see you’re still in the game...

Same, glad you got back your team but this has become like the boy who cried wolf, I’ve grown numb to this, it might truly a mistake but it happens so many times to so many coaches, just renew your team lol.

If it's a trend, it's a problem with the system, not the coaches.

Maybe instead covering up an inefficient system with those 6 warnings, they could simply make renewing automatic with a monthly subscription. Imagine how many subs Spotify would lose if they required everyone to manually renew every month. WIS uses an archaic system that hasn't changed since pre-2010.

Yep. I work in FinTech and Digital Transformation and have multiple certifications from MIT in e-commerce, UX design, and behavioral psych.

The issue is 100% with the design of this game. Personal responsibility is a red herring in this situation.

Also, personal responsibility in the context of business is complicated and comes down to consumer expectations. At a restaurant, is the consumer expected to a bring a fork or their own napkins? If they don't, are they irresponsible?

Users of restaurants expect forks and napkins and if they're not there they have a right to leave and take their business elsewhere.

Same goes for web-based games. There is an expectation - a standard really - set by the bigger games out there that it should be 1-2 clicks to pay for / renew a subscription to a game/service and that it should be easier to pay than anything else. Paying should be frictionless. There should be no scenario where a customer cannot figure out how to sign up for, renew, or extend their subscription. If such a scenario exists, it is on the service provider to address it - not on the customers to assume "personal responsibility" and start bringing forks to this one restaurant that doesn't have them.
