2020 SLB Players and Teams Will be Wild Topic

With this 60 game schedule and all the doubleheaders... that makes for a lot of starting pitchers. And the hairy dude in Colorado, will he hit .420? There will be lots of-? extreme highs and lows and distortions.

(And unfortunately, even more K's and homers, looks like. Maybe they should rename the game. K's and Homers.)

Jose Iglesias has huge cookie potential, currently on the injured list but has managed the 50 ABs needed to qualify for WIS. .400/.414/.564 with a very high doubles rate, looks like about an A/D- shortstop. he's in the 150 to 160 PA range per 162, will be a platoon force if he doesn't play any more games.

Guessing lots of reduced PA's and IP's, fewer full seasons -- but maybe more seasons at the very top of current era results, of /162 categories... if that came out clear enough.

Chris Davis is going to give us a great option for cheap PA to hit the minimum with 340 PA/162 or more for likely less than $2,000/PA

THE Chris Davis. Legend.

Baseball owners need to somehow risk strikes, lawsuits, etc., and try to make all contracts mostly performance based. I suppose it would take XFL style corporate control, though.

I would hate to be that guy (Chris Davis or Albert Pujols the Angel). I would think one would wish to re-invest in the franchise or its donations, something. Maybe renegotiate it into an annuity or something... then go down and play in AAA for awhile... something. They talk about the pressure on Joe Dimaggio during his streak, or Jackie Robinson... that's another kind of bad medicine in the air. Imagine the locker room. Wow, I'd hate it.

Wait, they prorate entire seasons to be as if they had been over 162 games, right? So these players with amazing performances for 60 games, WILL presumable have those awesome stats, but will be priced as if they had played 162 games and hit .500 etc. meaning that they won't be cookies, they will be expensive all-time seasons no? That is, good for the 200 mill and up leagues only.

I think the odd stat combinations will probably furnish along some odd bargain players, too.

It's that natural, unadulterated, and just distribution of wealth, IP.

Kyle Lewis

And BTW, MLB needs to soften the baseballs a tad. Or, change MLB to MLHK (Major League Homers & K's).

Fair enough.

If a pitcher still will need 25 IP to qualify, then that will mean every pitcher this season will have a minimum of 67 IP/162.

Noting that Trevor Bauer currently has an ERA+ of 718, OAV of .093, and 2.7 H/9. If he keeps that up and has over 100 IP/162, he'd be better than Uehara, Eck, Kimbrel, Gagne, etc.

I think there will be numerous 2020 pitchers that break into the ranks of the highly usable and at virtually all salary levels. Homers up or homers down will of course be a huge factor.
