Multi Position/Platoon Fatigue Topic

I have a full-time OF that qualifies at 1B and a couple extra OFs. I have a less than full-time 1B who I player rest fatigue covered with my OF/1B guy.

The previous game my 1B went below his fatigue level. I assumed my OF/1B would cover for him specially since I have a couple extra fully charged OFs to take his place.

Nope. He played OF and my already fatigued 1B was further run into the ground. There should not have been any other platoon/fatigue to influence this.

Why would available OFs not be called on while my 1B gets further burnt out when his OF/1B was available and lined up on the hierarchies, and how does this never happen again assuming pieces and playing time are properly in place ? I really don't think it necessary to day-to-day game-to-game micromanage or cost myself valuable roster spots by calling up aaa 1B/OF. No, I don't have other extra INF ABs to throw at 1B, and it apparently doesn't work anyway when I listed a qualified OF there with plenty of ABs accounted for at both spots.

Maybe it was a 1-time cluster confuzzlement and am tempted to not change anything and see if it corrects itself next game. But then what if it doesn't ?!

How are your hierarchies and rest settings set?

Is your OF/1B full timer a regular OF starter? If so, sparky won't do a double switch, it'll only swap the next guy on your hierarchy.

Ex. If you have your hierarchy set up with the following:

1B- part time 1B, full time OF/1B
OF- Full time OF/1B, other part time OF's

if your PT 1B goes below his fatigue level, your full timer is already slotted to start in the OF, so sparky see it as not having anyone available.

One possible solution - you can literally play anyone at 1B and they won't really be that bad. Still your other backup OF's in the hierarchy for 1B .

If this is an OL, don't be afraid to utilize your AAA as they're most likely better than any scrubs on your team.

Sparky will double switch if you’re set up right. I have Ketel Marte as my starting LF, and he’s 4th on my hierarchy for 2B. I have Dick Egan as my starting 2B against LHP and as my starting SS against RHP. I have a AAA player as my starting SS against LHP and another AAA player as my starting 2B against RHP.

My hierarchy for 2B has AAA 1, Egan, AAA 2, Marte.
My hierarchy for SS has AAA 2, Egan AAA 1
My hierarchy for LF has Marte, Bates, AAA 3

if my AAA is fatigued below his autorest it’ll shift Egan to the appropriate position and fill the open spot with the opposite AAA player, and if Egan and a AAA, or both AAA are below rest then it’ll shift Egan/AAA to SS and put Marte at 2B and Bates in LF.

Hmm, I guess I'll need to look around, I've never had/seen that Happen before!
