And down goes Morgan State, leaving 3 seed Hampton as the sole MEAC rep in the sweet 16.
I... I don't know what to do with my hands.
Seriously though, I recognize it's likely that the MEAC will end at 4th or 5th in conference RPI. However, I expect this conference to continue its improvements going into next season and cement those improvements with postseason results moving forward.
- Delaware State should begin it's ascent towards their NC-aspirations after their A+ prestige earned them an A+ recruiting class
- Morgan State and Morris Brown could both be even better next season and it's the first time both rosters will be 100% comprised of the coaches' own players
- Florida A&M, SCSU, and North Carolina A&T all just made the NT (two of them picked up upset wins as the 10 and 12 seed) and all look to have roster equal to or better than this season moving forward
- Norfolk is only in their first season of rebuilding and should pick up a few more significant
- UMES is likely going to have their first competitive season since their coach took over
- Howard, BCU and Coppin State all lost 4+ contributors coming into this season - I expect they'll improve with the season of experience
I think we
could get 7 in the NT again with some PIs to boot.
