I've played a ton of sim leagues, but not for several years. Choosing a theme league, I accidentally clicked the wrong one and got sruck in a max salary league where everyone is playing multiple Babe Ruth clones, etc.

I selected pitchers with low walk ratios but in every game they walk 7 batters, 12 batters, 10 batters and many come home when all those power hitters connect. I'm 7-19 at this point and can't see it getting any better.

Are there any new settings that have come in recently I'm not attending to that would account for this? Or are the the Babe Ruths and Barry Bondses granted walks in the sim because of their actual statistics?

Even great BB/9 pitchers are going to walk the greatest BB hitters at a higher level - when every player in the lineup is one of those greatest BB hitters, then BB rates are going to be much higher than normal.

Yeah, hard to take double figure BB in every loss when the opponents aren't piling them up like that. I guess I should have tried to get out of the league the minute I accidentally got into it. Couldn't click out of it and didn't want to bother contacting What If.

Not my cup of tea to simulated that which never has existed. "Babe, meet your new team mate, Babe." :)
