For Round Five, there will be four leagues of 24 teams each. Once again, the premise of this round is pretty simple, as you shall see.
Once the spots earned from Round Four have been tabulated and the owners are listed in each league in order of how many wins their Round Four team(s) earned, there will be a draft order listed for each of the four leagues. Since there will be no dividing of the National League and American League players in this round, each team can/will be made up of players and pitchers from both leagues Since Round Five only has four leagues, there will only be four "Number One Draft Picks" available to those advancing. Therefore, I'll take the owners with the eight best W/L records in Round Four and give them the Top Two picks in each of the four leagues. In other words, just like we did in Round Four.
The person with the first pick in each league will choose which three-year period he wants to use, and as mentioned above, he can use players from both the A.L. and N.L. Once the top two draft picks are made in all four leagues, the drafting will go on until all 24 spots are filled - again, just like the last round.
For example, in League One, you may want the awesome pitching from the Deadball era so you might choose the 1906-1908 period. Simply build your roster with players and pitchers from those three years and then - once again like the last round, let me know which division you would like to be placed in.
IMPORTANT: The only thing I require when building your rosters is that you have at least eight players from each of the three years in your time-frame. In other words, if you choose the 1906-1908 squad, there must be at least eight players from each of those three years on your roster.
The alignment will be set once all draft picks have been made.
OTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
NO CAP – Build the best roster you can from your three-year period
Clones: None
Designated Hitter: Yes
Waiver Wire: No
Injuries – Turned Off
Trades: No
A.A.A.: No
You may use either partial or full season stats of any player who had a split season - as long as the stats indicate it was for your franchise.
Stadium – You can use any stadium that was in use during your three-year time-frame.
Who Moves On?
Once Round FIVE is complete, the owners who own the eight playoff teams in each league will earn a spot in Round SIX. 8 x 4 = 32 spots. That leaves 16 spots to fill. The final 16 spots will be awarded to the teams who had the most wins across all 4 leagues (who didn't make their league's playoffs). The tie-break (should it come into play) will be (1) Most Home Wins, and (2) Most Runs Scored minus Runs Allowed.
Rounds Six and Seven will be different than any previous rounds. I've already got them figured out but will post them at a later date.
