"Rest" vs DL for pitchers Topic

Greetings,

Wondering if it matters much if a pitcher gets put on DL rather than just rest. Specifically, whether other owners look at the DL history. Let's say I don't really need the roster spot. I could DL the guy for 7 days. But, if the player goes on the DL for 3-4 different "owwies" during career will that send a bad message about the pitcher's health to potential trade partners?

Certainly the ratings carry more weight, which is why it may not matter if the guy has been on the DL more than the ratings would indicate he should. My guess is most owners will say they never even look at actual DL history and just include the health ratings in their analysis.

Yeah I only look at rating, because a teams training and medical budgets can affect how often the player goes on the DL and how serious the effects are.

I check the DL to see if it can explain bad performance. In that case, seeing that the pitcher was on the DL might improve their value.
