Greetings (and Merry Christmas!),
I am trying to figure out how the Franchise Payroll is actually calculated, first for my own team but also how you can see this number for other teams. When I look at the "Franchise Payroll Analysis" report for my team, it shows a bunch of players, and a total at the bottom right. But, this number never matches the "Season X Used:" amount at the very bottom of the page in the footer. In my case, the "Used" number is about $10mm more for my teams than the total from all the players on the report. How/where is this actual "Used" number calculated? This is my main question.
Secondarily, since the total at the bottom-right of the report for my team is different from the real total, when you look at other teams is their total on the Franchise Payroll report also different from the true total? Since the report for other teams doesn't include the bottom section shown for our own teams, is there somewhere to see the true total for other teams?
What I'm really trying to do is figure out how much money each team has available - if they transferred from player payroll and paid the 50% tax - for IFAs late in the season. Is there a simple way to see this amount for each team? If so, I'd still like to know how the true payroll is calculated for my team, but wouldn't have to analyze all the other teams manually.
For clarity, here is the bottom of the Franchise Payroll report for one of my teams...
