Icon progressive 2012 - Reds fans??? Topic

Recently completed our 43rd season and have one opening for 2012. The Reds have a pretty solid team, but are in need of a loving home. If you pay for 2012, I'll purchase your 2013 season for you.

See league rules and rosters below. For anyone committed to sticking around long term, there is the potential to move either team to a vacant city in their respective division. AL (Seattle, Kansas City, Toronto) and NL (Colorado, Miami, San Diego) with a three-season transition for meeting league rostering rules.

If you are into active drafts with lots of action, this is definitely the league to join. Thanks for checking us out. Please let me know if I can answer any questions about rosters or league rules.

Basic Rules:

Salary Cap - None

AAA - 12/6 Below Average (Any Career Keeper/Team Icon with fewer than 60 IP/ 150 PA may be placed in AAA or on the MLB roster to start the season). Beginning in 2000, we will switch to 6/4 Below Average.

DH – AL only

Trades - Allowed and almost needed. Teams can only trade for eligible players though. Draft picks may be traded 2 years in advance. Players to be named later (future random AAA players) may also be traded.

IR - Unlimited. Restricted to any player without a WIS season, or any CK/TI that did not play for your franchise at all during that season (at owner’s discretion).

WW - No

Keepers - Unlimited. Any players who were assigned to your roster as career keepers, team icons etc. must be kept for the duration of their career.

Draft Order - Will be determined at the end of the season. 54 wins are needed to qualify for a top 3 pick.*** Teams that do not reach 54 wins will be slotted from the 4th spot on by most wins. The rest of the draft (including top 3 picks) is inverse order of record. The first pick in rounds 2-4 belongs to the team with the fewest wins and continues in inverse order.
*Voting before the start of the 2005 Draft changed the draft lock deadline from Game 120 to the end of the season. This takes affect starting with the 2006 draft.

Divisions – As close to real life as possible

Team Names and Stadiums - Same as real life. If your team changes names or moves parks, then you must do the same.

Specific League Rules:

Keeper Rules - All players that fall in to the two keeper categories below will be automatically placed on their respected franchise without using a draft pick on them. They can not be traded or cut.

CAREER KEEPERS - Any player who has every season in WiS for one team will belong to that team. They cannot be cut, but may be put in AAA as the rules state below.
*Ryne Sandberg would still be a Cubs Career Keeper even though he had 6 ABs for PHI in 1981 because all of this WiS seasons 1982-1997 are with CHC

TEAM ICONS - Any player whose first ten or more eligible WIS seasons are with the same team, and who has had no more than 3 full WIS seasons with other teams (including defunct teams) will be designated a Team Icon and belong to the team whom he played 10 years for.

Any player who only played for one active team, while all his other teams are defunct (COL, FLA, KCR, MIN, SEA, SDP, TOR) will be a Team Icon of the active team, even if it was just 1 PA/1 IP with that active team.

Team Icon change after Expansion
1. Anyone who was a Team Icon due to defunct teams will have a one year grace period where they will remain a Team Icon for their old team, (Meaning they are exempt from the Expansion Draft) Starting the following season they will gain eligibility for their new teams.

2. Anyone who was a Team Icon of an existing team due to defunct teams but would be a Team Icon for an Expansion Team if they were in the league during that player's rookie season can remain on their old team but if they ever get traded to the new team then they will become an Team Icon for the new team and cannot go back to the old team. Mike Lieberthal in the 1996 Expansion is an example of this.

- Any Team Icon being may be placed on IR any season he did not play for your franchise. (This is optional, you can have him on your active roster if you wish)

- Any player who played every game for a defunct team (COL, FLA, KCR, SEA, SDP, TOR) will not be eligible to be drafted by any team.

You like a progressive with strategy and active trade opportunities then this league is for you. The rule that a player must have played for your franchise makes for interesting drafts & offseason deals.

Cincy & TB are contenders now & Detroit is a rebuild opportunity.

Come join a solid group of owners. Rarely do we have 1 team available. 3 is unbelievable!
