Which IFA would you take? Topic

Greetings, I've got the most money left for IFAs, with less than a week left in minor league season so unlikely for something better to come along. Which player would you rather have, as an AL team:

a DH with 100 power, 100 LHB, 70 RHB, 85 Contact, 72 Eye (says he's a catcher but not really)

or a Pitcher with 82 RHB, 80 LHB, 82 Control, 73 Stamina, 100 Velo, 91 P1, 85 P2...but only 46 Health

Most likely the pitcher and put him on a 5 pitch count during his minor league career.

Pitcher, given that even with $20m Int Scouting those vR and Eye ratings could easily be 60 or lower.

I think you have the wrong player link. The guy who you call a DH is definitely a catcher. And the guy you call a pitcher is definitely the same catcher.

The catcher is also not an IFA, either. But to answer your question as posed in the OP: take the pitcher 100 times out of 100.

I need more information like def ratings, speed, batting stance, age, how much your intl budget is.

And makeup, GB/FB for the P.

Do you have $20M medical? Is the C a switch? What's the DUR of the RP? Is the RP a lefty or righty. What's their patience?

I would be careful about posting IFA projections here. You could be giving information to someone in your league if they have a lower budget than you. With that said.....I would want the pitcher especially if he is a starter. He may never hit those ratings if he gets hurts but I would take the chance.

I usually do not take players with health ratings under 50. That said, which one I take depends more on what my team needs are. If I already had 2-3 good young hitters I would probably take the pitcher. If my team is having trouble scoring runs I would take the hitter.

yeah, I wouldn't have posted about IFAs on the forum but I have the most cash (by far), and only 7 HBD days left in season, so it was going to be my choice of one or the other.

I really like the advice of limiting the pitcher's max pitches while he's in the minors. If the limit is set very low, like the recommended 10 pitches max, will he still develop the same as if he threw more pitches?

They get credit for games played....not innings pitched. I was always too lazy to worry about limiting how much my best prospects played in the minors if they were at 100%. When one of my better pitching prospects had a significant injury.....I started worrying about it. I limit my position players innings now as well.
