The right doesn't really care about "blue lives." How much outrage have you seen from reactionaries over the death of Brian Sicknick? The man was MURDERED by TERRORISTS. Do they even know his name? Two days ago, another officer at the protest committed suicide. We're lucky more aren't gone with them.
As any of you may know, I'm not the biggest fan of the police as an institution or policing culture. But as a general rule, I care about human life and don't like to see murder.
"But what about the BLM protests?" If they had murdered a police officer, I would share similar outrage. Fortunately, to my knowledge (and I could be wrong), that never happened. When you see counts of police officers dead during the protests, they're typically adding up every person killed in the line of duty during June, regardless of whether it was during a protest or by protesters. For example, David Dorn was killed during a burglary miles away from the nearest protest. Was his death a tragedy? Of course? Was it caused by BLM? I haven't seen any evidence to suggest it was.
"Blue Lives" never mattered to these people. Clearly, "Blue Lives Matter" was always meant to drown out "Black Lives Matter." They don't care about either.
