SO I'm curious I have a player terribly underperforming...so since im still pretty new is this so Im curioius what every thinks of this stat line
Frankie Crosetti '36 (R) 100 38 34 0 0 0 .059 .158 .059 5.42M

what i should have expected, slight under performance, major under performance, wrong hitting enviroment or 2 small a sample size still

90M is the cap and my home stadium is Sportsman's Park (III)

on the flipside here is my AAA SS....Below Average!

It's 2010 Alexi Casilla

Way too small a sample size

Yes, it's a surprising start for both of them, but essentially meaningless because of the tiny sample size. I give exactly ZERO weight to players' performance under 100 PA, and rarely change anything based on under or over performance unless it's been consistent for at least half of the season.

Way too small a sample size, but at $90m, with normalization, increased competition, and the -2 hit ballpark effect I’d expect somewhere around .250 AVG and .350 OBP from him over the course of the season. Obviously, your direct opponents pitching and ballparks will play a large role, as well, but I’d use that as the baseline for viewing over/under performance.

Sorry I'm in Sportsman's Park (III)

Then I’d baseline around .268/.363... with caveats for opponent ballparks and pitching strength

Thanks for the insight I need to figure out how you figured that out!l so I can better evaluate players

Start with his advanced stats and use the # numbers. Adjust for ballpark by multiplying AVG# by ballpark adjustment from the chart here: https://www.whatifsports.com/forums/Posts.aspx?topicID=519598&threadID=11831435#l_11831435

You can see draft and performance trends here: to give you your $80m average performance for all players: https://www.whatifsports.com/mlb-l/stat_snapshot.asp

I then estimate a point of average per extra $1m in cap, so drop ~10 points and then adjust slightly down because his AVG# was below $80m performance trend baseline.

For OBP, I start with his BB/100# and adjust for league salary by reducing by the salary factor (80/90=.111, so his rate drops from 11/100 to 10/100) times his average PH PA. Subtract the BB to get AB and multiply by the AVG above to get H. Reconfigure OBP from that new H+BB total for his average PA. If no history, then I take actual PA+11% with a cap of 760 PA.

I could probably get more accurate salary adjustments, but these are good enough for quick estimates and comparisons.

WOW! You say they're "quick estimates"! I could never go through all of that. Lol!! I simply check out their normalized stats and performance history to determine if I think their strengths will be maximized relative to the park I'll be playing in. Perhaps that's why you're so successful, but it's way too far over my head. Lol.

Although I'm quite quick when it comes to dumping a seriously underperforming player and using the waiver wire, I also agree that 100 plate appearances isn't enough to get worried about.

He has hit better now but still i think underperforming
