So, yesterday I managed to receive the vaccination against the Covid - 19 virus. The 1st shot of two required. In my case the Moderna vaccine. A tiny ***** in the arm and the 1st step towards a return to "normality" for me (and the lovely lady--who also got pricked). By April I'll be able to pump gas without a rubber glove again. I'm thankful.

I'll also be able to get a Pizza at Silly Al's on my next boonie expedition. etc.

Some random observations in response to others posts on this virus.


"I have painted some smiley teeth on my mask"

By all means!! This is a great idea.
The old guy from BC is endorsing a swell concept (and he's right, OF COURSE, about our collective loss due to the inability to hug, see smiles, etc!!)

Plus, he's actually admitting to wearing a mask!!

His idea that they don't work however is lunacy.

In my neighboring town........ the closest thing to "civilization" where I reside--------- a 12 Year old Girl (at the local middle school) DIED from Covid last week. A child. Seems there is a not so uncommon malady that primarily affects kids that occurs days or even weeks AFTER Covid - 19 infection. Even an infection without symptoms (as kids mostly are with this) what they call asymptomatic. The scenario is/was. Child gets Covid. No symptoms. No one knows. 10 days later kid gets sick. Gets a rash. Has swelling in the lymph nodes, etc. Runs a fever. Tests Negative for the virus (because the child no longer has ACTIVE virus). Temperature soars, organs failing. Kid is flown to Phoenix Children's hospital (within 48 hours of sickness onset!!). Testes negative (AGAIN) for Covid - 19. Dies within 24 hours.

An anti-body test is performed............ bingo! Child is determined to have had Covid - 19. Weeks earlier.
THIS IS not AN ISOLATED CASE.

It is happening to children all over the Country. They have a name for the "syndrome".

This Covid - 19 crap is very real. It likely won't kill you, but it CAN!
And, it leaves MANY with long term health issues. Lung damage worse than lifelong smokers. Permanent "brain fog" resulting in loss of mental faculties, and who knows what LONG TERM.

Those who try and tell you this disease is akin to the flu are LYING or fools of the very highest level.

Rather than argue and call names.. check the real kill rate. I never said this thing isn't a bad deal I DID say and still do say that it is over hyped.. I have been around longer than the rest of you and never have seen as much publicity given to any single cause.. Even 9-11 got less press a year after the fact.This is all I have heard about 24-7 x 52 . . I guess I am just not that good at explaining my take on this.. but I tried, This thing has increased the death rate in Can by about 4 percent.. Just do the damned math..

My sister is an able-bodied, healthy young person. She got COVID around Christmastime. She hasn't left her bed since. Alive? Yes. But COVID has had an impact on my family, despite not killing any one of us (thank God for that). So to hear people downplay its risks is frankly disturbing.

My Sis AND her Hubby are doing all the right things. Haven't had anyone in their house for over a year. ,and both are reasonably fit/strong for their age. BOTH caught it anyhow. ten days.. They are still with us. I am not really down playing this thing as much as so many are OVER playing it. Sorry if you don't get my take.. I have said my bit, and am going to let this thing go. Do what you got to do, but think about something else.

.. and if anyone might be worried, it should be me. Been through heart surgery 4 yrs ago and am 75. Not over weight and doing all the right stuff for health.. I walk my arse off, and am good with the home gym thing.. but if it hits , then it hits. Being scared won't stop it. Meanwhile.. Life goes on.Fear can destroy you. Getting ready for Golf season again.. .On an 18 hole course you walk about 4+ miles (the golf carts are for sissies). To hell with viruses. Old golfers never die, they just lose their balls.

The Bible is the word of God and it says that Jesus Christ is LORD... it tells us that without faith in him, nations perish.. and if not, life there is total misery. Canada has been a long time true friend to the U.S.A. but we're not joined at the hip. so WE just doesn't apply to your Dodo bird analogy.

The FREEDOM from religion is as much a part of this Country as the FREEDOM to worship how you choose. You seem to preach from the condescending denomination(s) that assume spiritual superiority and absolute correctness of the Nature of God and spiritual purity.

I just don't think you're that wise or spiritually attuned.
