Rightly or wrongly, the player who "drives" in the game winning run, even in the case of it being a HBP, always gets the POG. Even if the pitcher throws a no-hitter, or someone else goes 6-6 with 4 HR. Could it be better? Sure. But really, who cares? Of all the things that WIS could do to improve the game, changing the POG algorithm would rank about 1500th on my list of priorities...
