I landed this guy with only RS2 to work with after bailing on a dumpster fire rebuild & swapping a disastrous D2 for a ready-to-win D2 that with some luck went 16-0 in a tough conference and made it to the E8 in my first season:

The initial 28 athl is probably the biggest reason I was able to get him, but I bet on his 6 greens - including that 28 athl.
Was banking on him being at least decent with the good WE and that many greens, and hoping at least one green stayed green long enough to make him better than decent. Athl will max out at 67 (I think it turned blue at 40, but I"m not 100% sure), which is good-but-not great IMO for a SF. His rebounding (73+) will be good enough to put him at PF (he's currently my starting C bc I screwed the pooch and didn't sign any bigs - but I see him as ideally either a SF/PF). Def will be 68+, block 55+, LP 34+, BH 58+, pass 64+, st & dur each 96+. Ovr will be at least 790 once he maxes out.
Current potentials: spd is the only red, FT is the only yellow, 0 blues & per is the only green. Everything else is "normal" potential, although several recently switched from blue to normal (obv., since he started with those 6 greens plus he had 2 blues).
But the big story is his per. Started out at 29, but that green 29 is now a green 63 - which means he'll get to at least 91 per.
I think the high potential, good WE, poor initial athl and otherwise not that great initial ratings, and his place on my depth chart his true freshman season (at best probably my 9th best player or so on a team that could - and did - obviously win without him) added up to redshirting him being a great decision.
