I love this concept, but I think 55m results in a lot of similar teams with the same top players. 48 or even 50m would promote roster diversity and GM interest ?

there are 10 teams in already, maybe John can comment on how much overlap there is currently. John, are you seeing the same big men on every team? how many teams out of 10 have Embiid? or Jokic? How about overlap with guards? How many teams have Kyrie? or CP3?

The preference for high vs low cap on this site is really divisive. I personally prefer low, but given this is a public theme I don't think there is any turning back now.

when a new season comes out, I like to run the league several times at different caps. one slightly higher to see what the true best team from that year looks like. another slightly lower to get more diversity and have a better test of GM skill. I personally think $55M is in the middle. High enough to get the players you want, but low enough to get some team diversity. There's isn't enough money at $55M to just draft the all-star teams, you do have to make choices to figure out where your scoring is coming from and so you will get diversity. And the very top players will be common to many teams regardless of the cap.

I want to get in this, I'm just waiting for the defense bumps.

Jokic is on 2 teams
Kyrie is on 1 team.
CP3 is on 5 teams.

The teams are not that much the same. Many players are on 2 or more teams but there are differences in every team.

Lebron is on 8 teams - which I believe he would probably be on a majority of teams at any cap.
If someone wants to start a lower cap league I would put a team in that as well. But I think this is a good cap. You can get enough of the players you want to try out, but low enough to still get some team diversity.

I'm surprised and encouraged by the diversity, count me IN. :)

I keep tinkering with lineups but I'm finding it pretty difficult to actually put $55 million worth of value on the floor rather than leaving some of it to rot on the bench.
