Dynamic salaries are not a good idea - they destroy many working theme leagues and do almost nothing to combat the real problems; you guys are treating the symptoms & not the illness. The entire salary structure needs a revision, and the main culprit that so many of you complain about (like zora's list there) is how the ast% bumps work. I have a great fix for that. Perhaps I should write up another legendary thread.
I agree that dynamic salaries are a bad idea. It was tried in the mlb sim and was a complete disaster. Adjusting the salary formula every year or so when the new player-seasons are released would be better.
Agreed completely with that. The current salary structure was designed either in 2010 or 2011 with community input. It was, to my knowledge, the last time Seble spent any time listening to & discussing our ideas with us. And what we came up with was good. In 2011.
The stat rampup in the past several years has really destroyed that structure. Take a look at the ODL. A good chunk of the best teams is made up of seasons since then - and an even larger percentage from the last 3 seasons!
It is definitely time for a change, but I think it will probably come with a complete redesign of the sim. I do think that revisiting the salary structure annually (or at least every two seasons) is a worthwhile idea, though!!
