Boost from strike year. Topic

Recently, I began using 1994 versions of players whose most expensive seasons rarely pan out; Craig Biggio, Barry Bonds, and Ivan Rodriguez specifically.

I've seen other owners use 1994 Darren Daulton who also seems to perform better than his 1992 or 1993 seasons.

Is there some sort of built-in additive for the strike year? Do pro-rated stats mean more than other full seasons?

1994 Jeff Bagwell is probably my favorite sim player and he never disappoints!

1994 Steve Ontiveros is a terrific cheap SP, and I always seem to have better luck with '94 Saberhagen compared to his '89 season.

Just wondering if other owners have experienced this too...

All strike shortened seasons have stats prorated to 162 games

'94 Larry Walker rocks in a + doubles park. I think he is set at 63 doubles for an entire season...

Right, it's just strange that I have better success with '94 Biggio over '97 Biggio. 1994 Ivan Rodriguez is really his only season that I've had any success with, and I'm primarily using 1994 Barry Bonds because of cost and performance.

Don't have much luck with 1994 Lofton, Belle, or Griffey however. Strange!

'94 Biggio hits more doubles. Singles/100AB and speed are similar. '97 version probably underperforms a bit with having a higher pct of his hits being HR. '94 strikes out less, is $1.5M cheaper too.

Try to squeeze the '96 Pudge's salary onto your team. That compares well, and has more PA. Some of his better seasons get pricey.
