Is my 17th pick protected since there is a type D pick in the top 10 that bumped from being the16th pick?

Yes the top 16 picks excluding any Type Ds are protected. I have had that situation myself and it was protected. IF there have been any changes in the logic this year, then my statement goes out the door.
