Right, but if I was running customer service, my immediate rebuttal to any ticket would be to ask the the customer how many opportunities he had to prevent himself from mistakenly demoting or releasing a player.
if the main reason for implementing it was to cut down on mistakes or cut down on tickets or even cut down on pushback when Admin tells the customer, tough luck, kid, then I think it likely has done what it was supposed to do.
I kind of like it, but only because I do a lot of manual roster movement in my minor leagues and if I accidentally click on release, I get a second chance and third chance to prevent a mistake. Before this, I only got that second chance and like you wrote above, my fingers were trained to almost immediately hit submit. Now a pop up makes me take a second look and essentially gives me a third chance to prevent a mistake.
