This was HARD!! I don't think I appreciated how difficult it was to build a team like this until I was actually in the hot seat, and boy was I ever in agony over a few of these picks. My team definitely has its flaws, but all things considered I don't feel too bad about it.

Doing this one round at a time is stressful.... I'd love to see my next round (or four) before I decide which diamond to use...

Having a blast so far but already realized I screwed up when my next round came out and there were 3 guys at same position that I just took that I would have taken had I waited a round

I know as soon as I saw my 4th round picks I sure screwed up the 3rd round....

Based on these comments you all can probably see why my draft took almost 2 hours and I was in absolute agony over my first few picks!!

This is such a hard format, much more so than when I do these on OOTP Baseball.


The draft is going incredibly fast, I can't even keep up with all the picks being made! This is wonderful!

Put me down as another one who's original strategy isn't matching up well with the choices coming in

The problem is I am sure if I had gone, ohh, I can wait to fill this spot, I would have gotten a different draw completely and would be frantic in a different way entirely

That's the nature of the game, and why it's so hard.
Having done dozens of these on OOTP Baseball, it's very rare that the players you hope for come out. Every so often you get lucky and you wait on a position and in the bronze round you get someone really nice for it, but often times I'm left just taking what I can get, especially for harder to fill spots.

In my own draft, I didn't even get a 3B until the last round, never even saw a catcher until the silver rounds and just took what I could get when I saw Kendall, hoping for another half catcher later, got lucky that one rolled off.

Day 1 report:

So after day 1 I am shocked with the pace!!! I can barely even keep up even while given it my full attention!
I had to take a couple hours off to work, and tonight was a huge night in OOTP Baseball Perfect Team, so I was off the grid for that this evening, despite that...

22/24 have made at least one pick
15/24 have finished 5 or more rounds
5/24 have finished 8 or more rounds
3/24 are finished

This is really great!


A couple other notes:
Please check your selections to confirm they do/don't have a year attached. If you send me a name with no year where they should be a year, I am treating this as an invalid pick and not moving your draft ahead until you confirm the year.
Remember, if you draft a PEAK card, then you can pick any season you want from this player, and there is at least one more card of this player on a lower tier.
If you draft a card with a year, you MUST take that season, and there is at least one other card of this player somewhere.
If you draft a card with no year attached, you can play any season you want, and there are no other cards of this player out there.

Also note: For players who played multiple positions in their career, the position FUNtoon lists does NOT require you to use them there. I merely list positions to help FUNtoon organize the players better, and make it easier for everyone to look up players they might not be as familiar with. I've had a few questions about Rose, he is listed at 1B but you're free to take an OF season if you prefer. This is also true for pitchers, SP/RP is arbitrary, and if you want to draft one of George McQuillan's big inning seasons rather than his 40 inning closer season, that's your choice. For pitchers I deliberately wanted to split (like deGrom) I'll attach years to create an elite starter (2018) and elite closer (2021).

We continue on a great pace!
Also note: Going forward if you attempt to draft a player with a specific season attached and do not include the season in your response, I am treating all these as invalid selections as will request either confirmation or to repick if that was not your intention prior to sending you another list.

As of now we have:

24/24 have made at least one pick! Yay!
21/24 have made at least 5 picks
16/24 have made at least 8 picks
10/24 have made all their picks!

I never dreamed we'd have almost half done in 2 days. Great job everyone!

Just finished my draft,,,it came with some anxiety but the concept was great and very fun!!!

Glad you liked it, and yes I know the feeling.

The VOD for mine is almost 2 hours long and most of it I was in agony.

Day 3 Report:

Still going along well, everyone is at least into the gold rounds.

Also note: When you finish your draft you have the OPTION of making one discard. You can discard either one silver card, or one bronze card. You can then request a list of 6 players from a specific position, however they will be a tier lower than the card you trade in (ie. silver goes to bronze, bronze to iron).
So if you were banking on getting a backup catcher in that final round, this is a lifeline, but as you can see, it's not free.

I was doing some thinking earlier, and I feel like this league will probably play like about a 160m league, maybe slightly less. So if you look like you have 160m in useful money, you're probably doing just fine. To compare, many of you have played in DEAL, which I feel like plays close to a 180m league, DEP like a 200m league, so the rosters here will not be nearly as strong as either of those. I spent 178m in my draft, but I also have extra IP and lots of AB on the bench that will never be used so a good 15-20m of that is overkill in IP/AB.

I got some good feedback and interesting suggestions for next season, a couple ideas might be possible, such as being able to request one reroll, or splitting the perfects into two piles and having 2 rounds. Everyone seems to be having a good time and enjoying the challenge, so I won't change the essence of the league, just might tweek a little.
