Wrigleyfest, revisited... Topic

It has been several years since WIS folks got together for a ballgame weekend...it used to be an annual event at Wrigley...

Here's something to consider...

We could do it at Busch..The Cubs are in town June 24-26, the Yankees visit Aug 5-7. I'm thinking the Saturday game is a good place to start...

A few good hotels approx 20 minutes south of downtown are also affordable and near some good eats. The Drury at Interstate I-55 at Hwy 141 near Arnold, and a few exits north is a remodeled America's Best Value Inn at I-55 and South Lindbergh. Both are in safe suburb area, a Bob Evans and Culver's within short walking distance. A Cracker Barrel is at the exit between them...a new Holiday Inn Express and a Fairfield Inn is here as well, at the I-55/Butler Hill exit.

There are other weekends worth considering... let's kick it around, see if we can put a plan together...

We could do more than one. I'm open to suggestions...

If we still live here, I wouldn't mind. We're looking for opportunities to move out west though. Sounds like fun! Obviously the cubs game would be preferred

Sure ... any excuse to get to a Bob Evans which don't exist out here

I would have interest. Never made it to the priors. Chicago would be better for me, but could make St.Louis work also.

There's a few more that might make it. I know thejuice6 is nearby...more are in the area. This is a good Hot Stove topic for over the winter...I'm confident we can put at least one event together...

There's those, Cracker Barrel, and several local places that do a great breakfast...this town seemingly has no limit to lunch and dinner choices. A very good place for foodies to visit.

Ballpark Village at the stadium is a great attraction, that in itself is worth the trip.

Overnight accommodations are reasonably priced outside of the downtown area. A quick check of the above mentioned hotels range from $65 to just over $100 per night. Game day parking cost is a fraction of what you'd pay in Chicago or Boston.

I would most definitely try to make it to a game at Busch. Chicago would be a stretch - got a lot going on at home right now.

Schottzie's will need to be on the slate for the after-game meal. Phenomenal pizza, wings, burgers, tacos. When Gretzky moved away, he regularly ordered pizza, they packed them in dry ice and air shipped them...not kidding.

I guess Speedfreak isn't active on here anymore?

Haven't seen him...

I would make the trip.

As I said, we can do a few, attend when you can. There are some dandy weekend series on the slate ..
