Rejoined Hardball and gridiron and they make Hoops platform look like a Atari system run game. We deserve better.
tired of the endless excuses.

what would you like to be better? Cosmetically, I wish they could align the teams with correct conferences. I know they can't do it perfectly, but that's my main complaint. I am sure there are some other things, but generally HD is solid.

Definitely something high on my wish list as well, along with updating the team lists to include those in the current divisions. Lots of movement since this was launched. Unfortunately, it would probably create a lot of issues.

I think the grass is always greener. I played HBD for 10 real life years (still do) and I find there is a lot of stuff that is done better in HD then in HBD. I wish we had the type of scouting engine in HBD that HD has.

I actually like the HD interface. It looks clean as hell. I do miss the 2.0 interface though! Good old days :/

Hoops Dynasty to me has outstanding navigation and graphics and usability. Top WiS game for ease of use and logic.

I dropped my Hardball teams cuz it was so headache inducing... good game and sim, but requires tons and tons of time

1. Amateur Draft was insanely difficult to rank players... no click and drag capability for the most important part of improving your franchise. Just a stacked table of 500 guys that was impossible to organize unless you spent 6 weeks sorting thru everything... but the amateur player list only is released 7 days prior to review.

2. Crazy massive tables of ratings and players on your rosters... can't sort pitchers/ hitters... can't sort between positions... can't see your entire 6 levels of players at once... constant clicking between pages.

3. Need color variations between levels or teams or standings... just a total data dump of ratings that cannot be sorted in any helpful way.

4. Just adjusting lineups is headache inducing... constant clicking page to page... easy solution, have all four lineups on one page with click drag and drop capabilities. How freakin easy would that be?

5. Dump Low-A level. Complete waste. A collection of suckitude.

I had to drop my teams cuz it was headache inducing and i dreaded just navigating around.

I totally agree... Hoops Dynasty-- the logic, organization, even colors and fonts, all excellent.

If Hardball Dynasty navigation was used in Hoops Dynasty, then setting depth charts would require each position on a different page, you'd be clicking around like crazy, need 42 notebooks, jeez.

A friend on HBD said something once like, HBD doesnt want to make it too easy... they want to reward owners who put the time in... say like with the Amateur Draft situation. Aftwr playing a dozen or so years, that seems like an accurate assessment.

Now get off my lawn!

Have they made *major* revisions to GD and HBD? I gave GD another try last year, and it’s still a terrible game. Formulaic, unrealistic, gameable and therefore utterly dominated by people who have been there the longest and know the secret codes (one guy had something like a 350 game winning streak in the world I was in with no end in sight). Likewise, HBD, is designed to basically devolve into winners ball, with the coach getting to the top getting increased advantages and staying there ad infinitum, unless they **** up or something. The development of the prospects are too predictable, the budgets are formulaic and static, no one in their right mind trades anything of value because there is no such thing as a win/win trade, good free agents only become available when someone ****s up or ghosts, and the only reasonable path to winning is to tank for 6+ years, stock up on draft picks and max on internationals, and bring everyone up at once (and don’t forget to manipulate service time, very important). No thanks.

Of course, it’s possible they’ve done more than just revamp the absurd injury process (which was terrible, and the first primary reason I quit) but I have no desire to go back without something like a HD 3.0 style overhaul.

I, for one, agree with OP's post. I think I was persuaded by the beautifully detailed examples and the succinct yet flowing prose. It makes the Declaration of Independence look like a 7th grade history essay. I mean, how could you not read through all of that text and not find yourself at least partially sympathetic to his plight?
