Not sure about recruiting. I lost 2 recruits to a team that signed 7 recruits and still shows 12 additional players (only 4 seniors); nobody transfers yet, with recruiting ending in a couple of hours. This tells me I can carry 15 players. Phelan League, Big East Conference.

Did the other team have three walk ons?

I’m guessing he has two EE’s. Check the BigBoard to see if he has two (or more) non-seniors who declared for the draft.

FWIW, probably the best tool that currently exists to see if another team has open scholarships is to check class rankings by Recruiting > Class Rankings > Conference (drop down box). I know it’s faster just to click on the team from the considering tab, but this kind of burn is always possible there, whether it’s early entries at high D1, or walkons and former ineligibles anywhere else. And of course a team can always cut a guy right up to the moment before the cycle runs, so you can never know with 100% certainty that you’re safe, but class rankings is the best place to look.
