This has been a pet peeve of mine for a long time. HBD treats all Asian players as a cultural monolith. Asia is a continent of numerous diverse cultures and people of that heritage relate just as you might expect. But in HBD, most of the players from Japan have Chinese names, many of the players with Japanese names are not from Japan, and way too many Asian players have the last name "Martin." Treating all Asians as the same culture is borderline racist in this woke age, and I wish HBD would fix it.

Holy hell, nice to know there's someone else who this ticks off. Absolutely no problem with the Felipe Rodriguez's and Julio Sanchez's... and then you get ludicrous names like, I dunno, Hong-Chin Sakamoto.
At least there are two of us, rbedwell.

For sure. Too many "Martin" and "Donald" last names, the blending you mention is definitely a problem. Would be nice to have last names more closely matched to countries, too (e.g., Wang with Taiwan or China as opposed to Japan)

I think all those players are the illegitimate sons of Geoff Martin and Jay Donald, who were excellent athletes who joined the army and set their life goal to have coitus with as many Asian women as possible during their 5 tours overseas.

Include me as well. At annoys the crap out of me and I do see it as racist.
