Increasing Budget Items. Topic

I remember reading some where that increasing your scouting, medical and training budgets did not have a linear effect, but geometric or exponential. Does anyone know if this is true.

Mostly true. Looking at it in reverse - and using scouting as an example - at 20 million you see the most accurate projections you can. Once you drop below 18, you see inaccuracies, below 16 they're obvious inaccuracies.

Right now I'm running a draft with 10 mil in scouting, I see 300 players and the projections are useless. Only reason I'm in the middle like this is I'm moving back up.

In that league I'm 10 mill on one and 5 on the other. I may as well close my eyes and throw darts at a board. Why didn't I sign a Type A this FA season?

I like operating at $20M at HS or college to get the most precise evaluation. As a side note, I took over a team with the top overall pick but was limited to a $15M college and $5M HS budget. I drafted a tough sign (Mom advisor) to purposely punt the pick, get the 2nd overall the next season and get a better evaluation on a college player with a $20M college budget. It backfired. I offered his first asking price, he accepted and I am now the proud owner of a 5th round talent with the first overall pick at the modest price of $6.5M.
