Meanwhile, I watched the full video, and it was totally consistent from what I expected. Maddow hypes up the data and misleads with rhetoric, but ON THE SCREEN shows the study she was referencing, which stated that the vaccine could prevent 80%-90% of infections. The popular clip that was spread came right after that study was shown on screen. I totally agree that the segment was misleading and Maddow did an awful job interpreting the study, but she literally showed the thing she was referencing and it didn't claim zero transmission.
And even in the broader video she repeatedly says that the main benefit of the vaccine was to reduce serious illness and death, and that the transmission study was an outlier.
So I turned out to be totally correct; even in your cherrypicked example (that I even acknowledge was misinformation), I still wouldn't have come away believing that there is zero risk of transmission if you get the vaccine.
