How do you make a pitcher skip a start? Topic

SP4 is scheduled to pitch tonight. He has the ball next to his name. Is there a way I can make him skip the start and have someone else start instead?

I thought maybe if I put SP4 at REST tonight that would do it, but I'm not really sure.

In the minors you can do it by Inactivating the pitcher. Not in the majors. You can set his pitch count to minimum so he's just an Opener and set your long relievers up to follow him.

Set pitch count to minimum and tandem him with the pitcher you wanted to start.

I was hoping to get them to not start at all. Not just the minimum. No go?

If you send them to the minors temporarily it'll work if you want to go that route.

IMO there is nothing wrong with making him an opener. go 20 TPC 20 MPC pull rating of 5 as the Tandem A with Tandem B as the guy you want. Even if the guy is 0(0) worst case scenario he gives up a run and then gets pulled. What will probably happen is he will get through an inning or walk a guy and the one you want will come in.

Easiest way would have been to rest him before he was scheduled to start, but too late for that now.
