I've never negotiated with a DP before. I usually either sign them or not. Anyone have any success with DP negotiations? I have a SS drafted 3rd that wants $3.5M. Great glove (which I could use) but couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat. Is he worth it? I sent an "offer" which was about $1M lower than his asking amount.

I’ve been successful going a bit lower with a spring training invite, but that’s about it. And I’ve never had an offer $1 million lower accepted.

Only draft picks that say they will sign for slot, will sign for cheaper than they are asking for. But never as much as $1 million. Maybe high first round pick might give you a $200k discount but i have not seen more than that.
