Do 4th year Inels Ever Declare? Topic

It used to be that 4th year Inels (played 3 active years) would never declare for the draft but I am wondering if they fixed that at some point?

Has anyone ever had an inel leave for the NBA after 4 years instead of staying for SR/5.

Yea they do. This is the only example I could think of off the top of my head but I think I have had others. I think Benis got this fixed a few years ago.

That’s good for the game. Makes sense to fix those hacks.

They can leave early. I had a 4th year inel (played three years) at #3 on the big board this year in Knight and he did leave.

However, even as a Sr (Jr in eligibility) he was listed as On The Fence even though he was top 3 on the big board all year. I've seen this happen with other 4th year inel players too. Made me wonder if there was something different going on with the odds to declare for those kinds of players, since otherwise a player in the top 3 is always Likely Going regardless of year. Or it could be a labeling thing with the report and his likelihood to leave was actually high.

Yes the guys that are listed at ‘Sr’ on the board, and DON’T have a star (which Is basically the clue that he was an Inel) will always be listed as on the fence. No matter if they are #150 or #1.

This part I can’t remember, but I also recall that they don’t actually ‘declare for the draft’ in their email. They basically just say they aren’t coming back to school. That could’ve been an isolated situation. But it might be all of them. I don’t pay close attention to the emails

I had one ineligible leave after playing only one season. Another after playing two.
But this was about 25 seasons ago.

It's been some time since I had a 4th year NQ leave and get drafted
