I was thinking about an offshoot draft league that is directly connected to the 52m league, where the first two rounds of players from the most recent 52m draft are off limits (those 48 players can't be drafted). It would be a normal draft league other than that, and the cap could be 52m, or could be slightly lower if that seems more appropriate. Just seemed like a cool twist that would allow us to build teams with different guys anchoring the squads. Might make for a new way to celebrate some of the mid-round talent, and some of the fun players from NBA history that don't get to shine in the 52m league currently. Thoughts? Interest?

I love the idea but I think there might already be something in the works for a banned draft. Still consider me interested. Also any chance for 50mil? I want to try something between 47 and 52.

Yeah, I think without the top 48 players, we can drop the cap a bit. I like the idea of 50m or 49m.

I really like the idea of a 50/50 league, and am leaning that way.

I would ban all drafted players from the $52M draft league.

Otherwise, you would only see different players at the back of the rotation or at the end of the bench.

Thanks, but the way I see it, the whole framework will be changed, simply by editing out the top 50. Yes, it will only open the door for 50 or so new players, but it will thrust middle round guys into primary roles, and possibly elevate some high usage guys who don't normally get a sniff, which is what I am most excited to see. Definitely not interested in banning the whole 52m draft, but that might be a cool idea to explore in another league.

In the new BOWIS (coming soon to a web site near you!) there will be a 45 draft league and a 55 draft league and a banned draft league that will ban everyone who was drafted in the 45 and 55.

This means (to me anyway) that doing the Berk 50/50 League where we get $50 million and ban the top 50 players from the 52 Draft is just right.

I would like for us to do a true live draft. Call it the QuikPik Draft League. We set up a zoom call or webinar and we have a live draft where every owner has a max of 45 seconds to make a pick or it skips to the next guy. Like a FantasyFootball draft on ESPNFantasy.

This could be incorporated into BOWIS as those that participate in that are most likely to be very experienced owners.

Have a 6 Round draft where in Round 6 you make two picks and then you just fill out your roster with the remaining 5 afterwards. Do like
a $53 million CAP so you dont have to stress too much about salary during the live draft.

24 owners/6 Rounds =144 x 45 seconds = 108 minutes. (I think maybe that's what that Chicago song is about? 25 o 6 to 4 or whatever:))
Run it one night at 10 pm est. Most picks won't take the full 45 seconds. It'll be over in an hour and a half, I bet.
