Missing from the Hall Topic

I know many people don't care about the Hall of Fames in their leagues, but for those that do; who are the players you can't believe are missing from the Hall of Fame? There are plenty of guys, but I'll start with a closer.

There are a few from Cobbfather, but this guy is currently on this last year of voting and it's not looking good.
Jace Sale - he is the all-time saves leader (758 to 2nd place's 571), he is also tied most Fireman of the Year awards with 5, a 15 time All-star and spent all 22 years of his pro career with one club, with 17 at the ML level. 12/12 in post season saves with 1 World Series ring and a 0.97 WHIP, 1.59 ERA. Saved 30+ games for every ML level he played. Saved 50+ twice and 45+ 7 times. Our blog runs Hall of Fame Monitor scores and he comps slightly higher than Mariano Rivera.

But like our blog says...the Hall voters (chicks) dig the long ball

The main problem with the HOF in this game is that many owners don't care about it and therefore don't take the time to vote.

As for closers/saves.... Many owners use their best RP in a Setup A role instead of closer role because they generally get more innings pitched as a setup man. This tends to devalue saves across the game.

As to your original question.... I had a player in Bo Jackson that finished his career with 450ish HR, 750ish SB, 9 time All-Star, 3 time MVP. Should have been an easy choice for HOF but didn't get voted in. 2 reasons for this: 1) Too many owners in Bo Jackson don't vote. 2) SBs are not valued in this game either.

Completely agreed on both fronts - for RP usage and for SBs. To an extent singles hitters have a hard time, even if they hit .300+ for 10-12 seasons, he just doesn't usually have the HR total that people look for. I wish in Private leagues that the commish had some more input on the Hall. Usually the Commish is a little more invested than the random owner who is there for 5-10 seasons. Though Cobbfather is lucky and have had quite a few owners at 15+, even two who have been there since the start.

There should be a checkbox that owners need to check to confirm that they are entering zero votes for hall of fame. If this checkbox is not checked, then those 5 votes get allocated pro data across the distribution of owner votes.

An example would be if 10 owners did not vote and didn't check the checkbox, than the 50 votes left on the table get allocated like below. In the below example, instead of no players getting into the Hall, two players would get in.

Player 1 received 16 votes (16 of the 22 owners that voted is 72 percent, so this player would receive 7 more votes)
Player 2 received 12 votes (12 of 22 owners that voted is 54 percent , so this player would receive 5 more votes)
Player 3 received 10 votes (10 of 22 owners that voted is 45 percent, so this player would receive 4 more votes)
Player 4 received 8 votes (8 of 22 owners that voted is 36 percent, so this player would receive 3 more votes)

The leagues I'm in are usually pretty good at getting guys in that have the counting stats. Though more SS's and CF's get overlooked due to a combo of the way the system displays their position on voting screen as well as not enough owners recognizing palyers' Def worth. I wish more owners would consider the low DUR guys but then again, I can't really argue that longevity isn't a valid criteria, even if it's just not super high on my priority list.

Hector is the greatest vLHP hitter I've ever had but there's no way he gets into the hall. And maybe a platoon hitter shouldn't (even though he's way better against LHP than I would have guessed given his 0 rating against him) but IMHO excellence like his should be rewarded.

I'm def on the the more the merrier in the HoF end of the spectrum.

This post has a rating of , which is below the default threshold.
First one to go on mine would be Glen Hayes. It’s a crime he never made the hall.
