2013 Post War League - FILLED Topic

  • 24 total teams in six divisions; 8 teams reach the playoffs
  • DH in the American League only
  • Separate AAA draft after the main draft of up to 4 real-life players from the same year. You can pick fewer than four or none if you wish. You will end up with fictitious computer-generated AAA players, but you can never use them.
  • Draft order is the reverse of the previous year's standings, except for special anti-tanking measures in the first round only:
    • If you fail to reach 35 wins at game 120, you drop to fifth for the first round of the next draft; if several teams fail to meet this win floor, they will be arranged best to worst.
    • The teams that get the top four spots in the first round will go into a lottery for the top four spots. The lottery will be decided on random.org.

Tanking:

Tanking involves failing to draft enough IPs, or playing players far out of position (putting an outfielder at catcher, for example), starting fatigued players while putting rested players on forced rest, etc. Simply playing somewhat fatigued players does not qualify as tanking. These situations usually take a judgement call, and the commissioner will always give the benefit of the doubt.

For instances of obvious tanking, the commissioner can drop a team one spot in the first round of the draft. The team will then drop another spot for each day (day, not game) that the situation continues, with a maximum of five spots.

If the tanking continues past five days, the owner in question will be kicked out of the league. If that happens, the penalty will be cut in half for any new owner (with fractions rounded up, so a penalty of 1 remains at 1, a penalty of 3 goes to 2, etc.). Any owner willing to take on a troubled team should be given a good chance to rebuild, and will obviously not be to blame for the previous owner's tanking.

Draft:

The first round is untimed. However, you only have 24 hours after the previous pick to make your pick. If you take longer than 24 hours, the commissioner may make a pick on your behalf.

If you send the commissioner a proxy list before your pick, he will not pick on your behalf, even if all the players on your list are unavailable by your turn.
