Redshirt an Ineligible? Topic

I am coaching San Fran in D1 and the new season is about to start. I signed an Ineligible player (my first ever) with a 2.0 gpa. Can I put a Redshirt tag on him after he makes the grades after a few games into the season?

no hes ineligible the entire season and won't grow at all. next season he will appear as a soph and he will play 4 years with the last one being sr/5

ok, I thought he may become Eligible during the season if he would get his grades up.

No the only time he can become eligible is during recruiting and you would get a message otherwise impossible
