What is it?
A collection of 6 challenging and distinct draft leagues held every year. 24 users join all 6 leagues and at the end of the year, whoever has the most points is the BEST OF WHAT IF SPORTS!

Buy In
This year, we are having a $10 buy in. The reason for this is because WIS has agreed to match the $240 in prize money! I'm throwing in an extra $20 to get to $500.

The 6 leagues
1. $55M
2. $45M
3. $50M Banned (every player drafted in the first two leagues is banned)
4. Latest two seasons league (2022-2023 & 2023-2024)
5. $50M Double Franchise League
6. Wild Card League! - The previous champion gets to choose any draft league they want! For this season, our defending champion, raggedclaws, has decided to bring back the $50M Autodraft.

Schedule
Drafts will be spread out throughout the year. The first draft will begin as soon as we have 24 users signed up. After that, at the conclusion of the regular season of each league, we will start the next draft. This should result in concluding the 6th league by the end of the 2024 year. Timeline may have to be compressed slightly to accommodate this.

Draft Specifics
$55M, $45M, and $50M banned will all be 6 round drafts with the 6th round being a double round.
Latest two seasons draft will be 6 rounds with the 6th round being a double round. ABBABB
Double Franchise Draft will be two rounds. You draft a franchise with each of your picks. Teams can only be drafted once per round. Teams that are drafted in the first round will be eligible to be drafted once in the second round.
Autodraft will be 6 rounds with the 6th round being a double round. Users will submit lists of 148 players before the draft.

All draft orders will be completely randomized. Trades are allowed for all drafts, but only as complete position swaps. Trades need to happen prior to the start of the second round.
Each draft will be on an aggressive clock schedule.
Proxies are expected if a user is going to be away for more than a few hours.

Scoring:
All regular season wins in each league will count as 1 point.
All playoff wins in each league will count as 2 points.
All byes will be counted as 4 playoff wins and be counted as 8 points.
Making the playoffs in all 6 leagues is worth 20 points.
Each individual championship is worth 20 points.

Prizes:
We will have $500 in site credits to hand out this season. The money will be distributed accordingly:
All league winners will receive $20.
1st Place: $150
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $75
4th Place: $40
5th Place: $15

Relegation:
This is a tournament to prove who is the best. Every year, the bottom two finishers will be relegated to the bottom of the waitlist.

I’ve been in leagues before where there was money involved. The way it works is that you buy a $10 WIS gift card and send it to Ben and he holds onto the gift cards until the end of BOWIS, then he distributes the prize money to the winners.

Now that I think about it prizes such as $75 might be an issue. All the prizes might need to be in increments of $10.

First paragraph is correct. You all will send me $10 in WIS giftcards. At the end, I will distribute all the money and WIS will send out some of it as well.

Forgot to mention that in the virtual meet last night we discussed tanking and came up with a rule for the playoffs:

Any playoff game where a typical starter plays more than 10 minutes less than their min/82 (exceptions to be made for foul trouble) will be considered a tank game. Users are not allowed to tank a playoff game unless:

They announce on the league chat that they are tanking the game by 10:00 EST

Any announcement after this time will be considered void.
Any game that is tanked without an announcement prior to 10:00 EST will result in the following game being forfeited as well.

If an announcement is made that one opponent is tanking a game, the other user still needs to ensure that they are not tanking the game. If user A announces they are tanking, and user B plays their starters more than 10 minutes less than their min/82, user B will forfeit their next game and will not be allowed to tank that game.

How easy is it to enforce the forfeiture of games? Will WIS be timely with this? Also how strict is this team B 10 mins less thing? Because if I start a player who normally plays 30 for 20mins I wouldn’t be surprised if in a tanking game he ends up closer to 18mins
