I dimly recall that there was a post from someone with WIS within the last year about increasing the quality of walk-ons so that some would even be useful as backups, but I don't remember where I saw it and now I can't find it. So my questions are (1) does anyone else remember this and (2) has anyone noticed an increase in walk-on quality?

I was thinking it might be interesting to try to go .500 in D3 with a roster consisting entirely of walk-ons, but I don't want to try it if their quality is still putrid. Thanks in advance to anyone who can confirm (1) and elaborate on (2).

They did say they’d make better walkons. It was a bit overtuned so they reverted the change if I recall correct. Decent amount of coaches were getting legit starter-star quality players; pretty widely criticized on the discord but I actually really enjoyed the intent even if the execution was a little off.

I have still noticed a good amount of coaches posting good walkons though. Wondering if they just dialed it back a lot.
