Nothing shouts how corrupt they are more than this last round of preemptive pardons

I am hopeful that this trail of breadcrumbs will aid in further investigations.

An unintended consequence of these pardons is that the recipients may now be called to testify and will no longer be able to claim 5th amendment privilege as they can no longer incriminate themselves. So, they can either testify truthfully or face contempt charges, which would be a new crime and not covered by these pardons.

I also hope the legality of preemptive pardons are challenged by some group. Although there are precedents, they seem to go directly against the ideals of law and order.

Some previous examples include a couple of possibly understandable instances both centering around wartime actions. Actions that could realistically be considered folks behaving in good conscious.

Jimmy Carter's pardons granted to those draft dodgers during the Vietnam War. Even if the war began with a sense of ideological sincerity, we know that over it's 20ish years of dragging on, it devolved into something far from that.

Then the example of Abraham Lincoln and Andrew Jackson granting preemptive pardons to confederate soldiers to keep them from being charged with treason.

The others, however, were granted to folks who plainly broke the law for self serving reasons with little to no legitimate claim of moral justification attached.

These include the most famous of all, when Gerald Ford preemptively pardoned Nixon for any crimes he may have committed during the whole Watergate scandal. Also when George HW Bush granted preemptive pardons to Defense Secretary Casper Weinberger and 5 others for their roles in the Iran/Contra debacle.

Here we can watch as Jake Tapper, in December of 2020, asks Biden about potential preemptive pardons outgoing president Trump may issue.

To be clear, Trump issued ZERO.

But listen to Biden's response, especially comical cconsidering his latest actions.

Even CNN is bemoaning the hypocrisy and how terrible the optics are.

If it wasn't some underhanded act he could/should have done so days ago and defended them publicly like he did when he pardoned his son.

Here's What Biden Said About Preemptive Pardons in 2020
Rebecca Downs

"Well, it's, uh, it concerns me in terms of, uh, what kind of precedent it sets and how the rest of the world looks at us as a nation of laws and, uh, and justice. Um, you're not going to see, uh, um, in our administration that kind of approach to pardons, um, nor are you going to see in our administration, uh, that approach to making policy by tweets, um, you know, it's just going to be a totally different way in which we approach the justice system."
